Giac joins the teaching faculty and supervisory team at RELATE and CURIOUS, bringing extensive experience in psychoanalysis and clinical psychology.
He has lectured in psychoanalysis and clinical psychology and provided supervision in psychology and psychiatry training programs at the University of Queensland, Queensland University of Technology, and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists. His teaching has covered Meta-psychology, Clinical Theory and Technique in Psychoanalysis, and Professional Ethics. His doctoral research at the University of Queensland explored Therapeutic Change and the adequacy of explanatory models in psychotherapy research.
Giac has published widely on psychotherapy process and outcome, psychoanalytic theory, and the intersection of psychology with music and culture. His work has appeared in Administration and Policy in Mental Health and Mental Health Services Research, American Journal of Psychotherapy, Psychotherapy in Australia, Australian Psychologist, and InPsych, among others. He has also presented on topics such as inequality and narcissism, oral sadism, and the function of the orgasm in psychoanalytic thought. In 2013, he recorded a video interview with Professor Arnold Goldberg of the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis.
With over two decades of experience supervising Psychologists, Psychiatrists, Psychotherapists, and Psychology students, Giac has a deep commitment to training and mentorship. He has a particular interest in Psychoanalysis and the Psychology of the Self, helping individuals understand their unique experiences, relationships, and patterns. His clinical work supports those seeking personal growth and self-understanding, as well as those facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and relationship difficulties.
