Alana Vining

Registered Psychologist (adult) & Clinical Registrar

Alana is a registered psychologist dedicated to fostering a supportive environment for your personal journey. Her aim is to provide a space where you can reflect, explore, and discover new aspects of yourself. Most importantly, she is committed to ensuring that you feel heard and understood without judgment.

 

Alana infuses her therapeutic practice with warmth, using an insight-oriented and relational approach. She draws inspiration from a blend of modalities, including Psychodynamic Therapy, Attachment Theory, trauma-informed therapies and mindfulness-based practices. Alana has also completed training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy and in the Circle of Security Approach.

 

Each session is tailored to your unique needs, ensuring a person-led, relaxed, and conversational atmosphere. Alana strives to meet you with compassion, while also incorporating moments of lightness and humour into the work.

Alana obtained her Bachelor of Psychological Science (Hons) at The University of Queensland, and her Master of Clinical Psychology at Queensland University of Technology. She has experience working in both public and private mental health settings.

Alana sees patients for mood-related disorders & anxiety, attachment & relationship problems, sexual difficulties (e.g., vaginismus / painful sex, low desire, erectile difficulties), people impacted by life transitions, trauma or women's health problems, and people that identify as sexually or gender diverse.
